You can obtain much more information about the Ramblers, and also join the Ramblers, via its website http://www.ramblers.org.uk The website covers such topics as: getting started, local groups, walking for health, walking events, walking holidays etc etc. Why not spend some time exploring the site! As a member of the Ramblers you can join discussion groups and even seek people to join you on walks in particular areas. The SE Hants group contributes to the national Ramblers work by supporting the formation of a South Downs National Park, by monitoring footpath condition in our area and reporting footpath problems, and by monitoring local planning applications and submitting objections if they are likely to have a negative impact on the footpath network or the surrounding countryside. More information on each of these topics can be obtained by following appropriate links from the national RA website http://www.ramblers.org.uk |
