You can obtain much more information about the RA, and also join the RA, via its website http://www.ramblers.org.uk The website covers such topics as: getting started, local groups, walking for health, walking events, walking holidays etc etc. Why not spend some time exploring the site! As a member of the RA you can join discussion groups and even seek people to join you on walks in particular areas. The SE Hants group contributes to the National RA work by supporting the formation of a South Downs National Park, by reporting footpath problems, by proposing areas for inclusion as Access land under the CRoW legislation, and by monitoring local planning applications and submitting objections if they are likely to have a negative impact on the footpath network or the surrounding countryside. More information on each of these topics can be obtained by following appropriate links from the national RA website http://www.ramblers.org.uk
